In spring, cherry blossom viewing is held at the temple. While the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, memorial services and ceremonies are held, giving visitors a religious experience while enjoying the beautiful cherry blossoms. Spring Higan-e is also held, and special festivals are held around the vernal equinox to honor the spirits of ancestors.
summer
In the summer, Bon parties are held and memorial services are held to welcome the ancestors. In addition to memorial services, Bon dances are also held during the Obon period, and the local community gathers together.
autumn
In autumn, the Autumn Higan-e is held, and memorial services for ancestors and Eko memorial services are held around the autumnal equinox. Autumn harvest appreciation festivals are also held to give thanks and express gratitude for the local produce.
winter
In winter, the New Year’s Eve bell is rung on New Year’s Eve, providing an opportunity to cleanse one’s mind and body in preparation for the new year. In addition, believers pursue spiritual growth while enduring the winter cold through a rigorous training called Kanchu Mizugyo.
